Bob Roohparvar, Ph.D., is the president of DigitalOptics at Tessera, where his responsibilities include the leadership of DigitalOptics Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tessera Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: TSRA). Roohparvar is responsible for the direction, strategy and operations as it drives innovation in imaging and optics with products and capabilities that enable expanded functionality in increasingly smaller devices. His wealth of experience includes deep technical expertise and a unique combination of technical, leadership and execution skills.

Prior to this, Roohparvar worked for Flextronics, which he joined in 2006 as president of FlexPower, and where he served as president and CEO of Vista Point Technology. Under his leadership, these subsidiaries grew into billion dollar businesses. Prior to Flextronics, Roohparvar was vice president and general manager at Broadcom. He has also held management positions at Fairchild Semiconductor and Xicor.

Roohparvar is an associate professor of Computer Engineering at California State University, East Bay. He has also taught at the University of Nebraska and Iowa State University, and holds B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Iowa State University, and is the inventor of multiple patents relating to semiconductor technology.
