Refractive Optical Elements

DigitalOpticsTM solutions include some of the world’s most advanced refractive optical elements (ROE’s), which manage light using the sample principles of refraction as conventional lenses.

Tessera’s wafer-level fabrication techniques enable the lithography, replication and reflow processes used in manufacturing its ROE’s to operate with higher efficiencies than conventional - and time-consuming - grinding, molding and polishing. These ultra-precise processes, which can remove the need for active alignment of the optical system elements, can also add mirrors, micro-labels and registration features. The combination of these advanced processes with Tessera’s industry-leading measurement equipment ensures that DigitalOptics ROE’s have the highest possible levels of performance repeatability.

DigitalOptics ROE’s include collimating lenses, lens arrays for parallel data communications and camera lenses. They provide optical and geometric performance that meets and exceed targets on each and every part.
