The OptiML^TM Focus solution enables every picture to be in focus, every time. It automatically focuses a camera-enabled device, delivering high-quality images - both still and video - with no moving parts. This means it is more reliable and much faster than mechanical solutions.

Supporting resolutions as high as 14 megapixels, the OptiML Focus solution dramatically alters what is possible in a mobile device, providing a smaller, lower cost, easier to manufacture solution for auto focus capabilities in mobile electronics. The solution offers the significant advantage of exceptional deep focus performance - resulting in enhanced depth of field - while enabling high-quality image taking regardless of the subject range.

The innovative micro-imaging technology of the OptiML Focus solution combines lens design and image processing algorithms to enable all objects from 30 centimeters to infinity to be in focus at once. The image processing algorithms can be implemented in hardware as a single-chip system or in software: integrated into an image sensor system-on-chip (SoC), image signal processor (ISP) or application processor - or run off-line. The optimized lenses, which can be plastic or glass, can be manufactured with existing injection molding production lines.
