Information Collection
Tessera uses cookies, Web log files and other monitoring technologies to compile information regarding the usage of Tessera’ Web sites. Tessera collects information from our users at several different points on our Web sites. Tessera is the sole owner of the information collected on its Web sites.

There are times when we may request personal information from you, such as your name, address and e-mail address. When additional information is requested, we will try to let you know at the time of collection how we intend to use the personal information you provide, such as respond to your inquiry, conduct a survey or allow you to access specific information. If you sign up for a Tessera email list, each message will include instructions on how to “unsubscribe” from that list. We respect your right to choose whether to give us personal information or if you choose not to register or provide personal information, you can still use most of our Web sites. But you will not be able to access areas that require registration. We also do our best to maintain the accuracy of any personal information you do supply to us.

Information Use
Any information provided by you will be used for Tessera’ purposes only. Your information will not be shared with third parties unless required by law (for example, in response to a subpoena or a court order); however, we may collect information and possibly share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal or improper activities, fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of Tessera’ terms of use, violations of Tessera’ intellectual property or as otherwise required by law.

Cookies
Tessera Web sites use cookies. A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s computer tied to information about the user. Cookies help us provide a better user experience by measuring which Web site areas are of greatest interest. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site.

Current versions of Web browsers offer enhanced user controls regarding the placement and duration of both first and third party cookies. Search for Cookies under your Web browser’s Help menu for more information on cookie management features available to you. If you choose to disable cookies in your browser, you can still access most of our Web sites. Some Web sites may not allow you to complete certain activities if cookies are disabled.

Log Files
Like most standard Web site servers we use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information. We use a tracking utility called WebTrends that uses log files to analyze user movement.

Access to Password Protected/Secure Areas
Access to and use of password protected and/or secure areas of Tessera Web sites is restricted to authorized users only. Unauthorized individuals attempting to access these areas of the Web sites may be subject to prosecution.

Links
This Web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we, Tessera, are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every Web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Web site.

Security
This Web site takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. All of our users’ information is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. Finally, the servers that store personally identifiable information are in a secure environment.

Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.

If, however, we are going to use users’ personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify users via email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. However, if users have opted out of all communication with the site, or deleted/deactivated their account, then they will not be contacted, nor will their personal information be used in this new manner. In addition, if we make any material changes in our privacy practices that do not affect user information already stored in our database, we will post a prominent notice on our Web site notifying users of the change. In some cases where we post a notice we will also email users, who have opted to receive communications from us, notifying them of the changes in our privacy practices.
